Add an Assistant (Helpers Only)

Introduction

If you are a Helper, and are interested in partnering with a friend, co-worker, or a family member to help out on 2-person Dollys as your Assistant, you have the option to do so.

Having an Assistant will update the Helper's account to reflect 'Team' status to request jobs that require 2 persons.

Note that if you signup to become a Team and the Assistant is unavailable, Lead Helpers will still have the option to work with other Helpers and Hands. See screenshot below.

Assistant Requirements:

1. MUST be 18 years of age or older.
2. MUST possess a valid Federal or State ID in order to pass a background check.
3. MUST possess a valid SSN in order to pass the background check.

Step 1: Access and Submit the Assistant Application from your Helper Dashboard

Visit your Helper Dashboard (helpers.dolly.com) and open the menu in the top-right corner. In the menu, click on Create a Team. A link to the Assistant application can be shared. After submitting the application, the applicant will receive a text message to keep an eye on their email for the next steps.

Step 2: Assistant Applicant Submits Documentation

After the Assistant provides the required information, our team will review and communicate with the applicant.

Step 3: Approval as Assistant

When approved, the Assistant and Helper will receive communication about the update. Since the Assistant is a subcontractor to the Lead Helper, they will not have access to the Helper app.

Any additional Assistants beyond the first approved Assistant will need to have the link shared to apply under the Helper. These additional Assistants will be notified of their approval but the Lead Helper will not. 

Important Notes

• Assistants become your subcontractor and do not receive any payment from Dolly.
• Assistants do not have access to the Helper app.
• The use of any person other than your approved Assistant while on Dolly's platform will result in deactivation of your account.
• When requesting and accepting jobs as a Team, the Lead Helper can only bring ONE of their approved Assistants to a scheduled job. Bringing additional Assistants to complete work will result in suspension or account deactivation.

Assistant FAQs

I'm currently an active Hand or Helper, can I become a Helper's Assistant?

Yes. If you are currently a Dolly Hand or Helper and you're interested in working with a specific Helper, ask the Helper for a link to apply to become their Assistant. 

You will still have the ability to request your own Dollys as a Hand. If the Helper requests a Dolly with their Assistant, they must be sure that you are available and will notify you. 

For Dollys where you will be an Assistant, only the Lead Helper will be able to see Dolly details in the Helper app. You will not have access for that specific job.
